Metastatic Disease - Lung Carcinoma

A 66 year-old man with a prior history of lung cancer presented with a three-week history of mid-back pain followed by rapidly progressive paraplegia and incontinence over 24 hours.

Outline the Tumor                  Note the Abnormal Marrow Signal at T4

MRI Scans of the Thoracic Spine: (Left) Sagittal T2-weighted; (Right) Axial T1-weighted. Note the large tumor arising from the posterior bony elements at  T4 that is compressing the thoracic spinal cord. On the sagittal image, also note the the T4 vertebral body is abnormal, infiltrated with tumor.
