Pituitary Macroadenoma - Case 3

A 47 year-old woman developed progressive headaches and difficulty with vision. On examination, she was found to have a dense bitemporal hemianopsia.

(Left) Sagittal T1-weighted MRI; (Right) Sagittal T1-weighted with gadolinium. Note the large enhancing mass in the region of the sella which is growing up and displacing the optic chiasm and hypothalamus. Surgical resection demonstrated a large pituitary adenoma.
