Pituitary Macroadenoma - Case 3

A 47 year-old woman developed progressive headaches and difficulty with vision. On examination, she was found to have a dense bitemporal hemianopsia.

Show the Compression and Elevation of the Chiasm     Note the Carotid Arteries

Coronal T1-weighted MRI. Note the large mass in the region of the sella which is growing up. The optic chiasm is displaced upwards and is draping over the mass. Surgical resection demonstrated a large pituitary adenoma.
