Pneumocephalus - Case 1

A 75 year old woman slipped and fell backwards hitting the right side of her rear head.

Show the Intracranial Air ("Pneumocephalus")

Axial CT scans. Note the several circular areas that are extremely dark. This is intracranial air (pneumocephalus). In this case, this resulted from a skull fracture which allowed entry of air intracranially.
