A 64 year-old woman fell and hit her head. She was dazed and confused,

Show the Subdural Air      Show the Air in the Ventricles and Cisterns      Note the Air-Fluid Level in the Lateral Ventricles

Axial CT scans. Note the prominent intracranial air, which is extremely dark. The air is in the third ventricle, anterior horns of the lateral ventricles and over the frontal convexities. Presumably, the air entered as a consequence of an underlying skull fracture.
