Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis

A 28 year-old man presented with severe and constant headaches. On examination, he had papilledema.

Show the "Delta" Sign: Clot in the Superior Sagittal Sinus                               Show the Clot in the Straight Sinus

Axial CT scan (without contrast). Note the hyperintense signal in the region of the straight sinus and superior sagittal sinus. Freshly clotted blood appears white on CT. This scan is highly suggestive of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.
