Cervical Spinal Stenosis - Case 2

A 77 year-old woman presented with falling and and an unsteady gait.  Her exam showed increased tone and reflexes in the legs and bilateral Babinski signs.

Note the Characteristic "Scalloping" Pattern

T2 weighted MRI scans of the cervical spine. Note the multilevel stenosis from C2-3 through C6-7. The CSF (bright white) has a scalloped appearance. Cervical stenosis is a common cause of gait disturbance in the elderly.
