Thalamic Intracerebral Hemorrhage - Intraparenchymal - Case 3

A 53 year-old hypertensive man developed right sided numbness and weakenss which slowly worsened over 2 hours.

Outline the Hemorrhage      Outline the Vasogenic Edema       Show the Anatomy of the Basal Ganglia and Thalamus

Axial CT scan: note - there is a hemorrhage in the region of the left thalamus which is extending slightly laterally and involving the internal capsule. A small hemorrhage such as this can easily mimic a small ischemic stroke clinically.
