Acute on Chronic Subdural Hematoma - Case 2

A 78 year-old man developed mild right sided weakness and a sublte aphasia over 3 days.

Axial CT scans. Note the crescent shape overlying and compressing the left hemisphere. There are both an acute and chronic components. On CT, acute blood is hyperintense and chronic blood is hypointense (similar to CSF). In this case, the patient likely had a previous subdural and then rebled.
