Subdural Hematoma - Bilateral Chronic - Case 1

A 83 year old man was noted by his family to have a change in personality. He was less verbal, and often confused.

Show the Chronic Bilateral Subdural Hematomas

Axial CT scans: Note the bilateral (worst on the right) fluid collections in the subdural space. Old blood on CT is hypointense where as acute blood is hyperintenisve. These are bilateral subdural hematomas which are chronic. There is mild mass effect on the brain with effacement of the sulci.
